Difference between snoring and obstructive sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea is more serious than normal snoring and occurs when the upper airway becomes completely closed, stopping the air going to the lungs. The body is alerted to this dangerous condition by waking the sufferer who often wakes up choking to 'jump start' the breathing process. If wake a lot in the night, always feel tired and sleepy, a sleep test would be required to confirm sleep apnea.

A CPAP machine helps the condition or surgery may be required.
